چکیده

The development of secondary flow along a curved channel is fundamental phenomenon occurring in wide range engineering applications, including turbomachinery, aerospace, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, etc. underlying physics about end-wall flows has been well-documented the open literature, while interaction between and side-wall boundary layer, which critical to aerothermal performance surface, not comprehensively studied. In this study, entropy generation an passage vortex layer were numerically investigated by Reynolds-averaged Navier–Stokes (RANS) CFD for 90° channel. transportation effect mechanism induced pair on side wall reported. It was also found that growth can be suppressed due displacement layer. Furthermore, it provides suppression separation.

Entropy generation in hydromagnetic and thermal boundary layer flow due to radial stretching sheet with Newtonian heating

The entropy generation during hydromagnetic boundary layer flow of a viscous incompressible electrically conducting fluid due to radial stretching sheet with Newtonian heating in the presence of a transverse magnetic field and the thermal radiation has been analyzed. The governing equations are then solved numerically by using the fourth order Runge-Kutta method with shooting technique. The eff...

Spectral Entropy in a Boundary-Layer Flow

This article presents a comparison of the entropy production in a laminar and transitional boundary layer flow with the spectral entropy produced in a region of instability induced by an imposed periodic disturbance. The objective of the study is exploratory in nature by computing a boundary-layer environment with well-established computer techniques and comparing the predictions of the maximum...

Entropy Generation through Deterministic Spiral Structures in a Corner Boundary-Layer Flow

It is shown that nonlinear interactions between boundary layers on adjacent corner surfaces produce deterministic stream wise spiral structures. The synchronization properties of nonlinear spectral velocity equations of Lorenz form yield clearly defined deterministic spiral structures at several downstream stations. The computational procedure includes Burg’s method to obtain power spectral den...

Unsteady boundary layer flow of a Casson fluid past a wedge with wall slip velocity

In this paper an analysis is presented to understand the effect of non–Newtonian rheology, velocity slip at the boundary, thermal radiation, heat absorption/generation and first order chemical reaction on unsteady MHD mixed convective heat and mass transfer of Casson fluid past a wedge in the presence of a transverse magnetic field with variable electrical conductivity. The partial differential...

Analysis of the Characteristics, Physical Concepts and Entropy Generation in a Turbulent Channel Flow Using Vortex Blob Method

In this paper, using vortex blob method (VBM), turbulent flow in a channel is studied and physical concepts of turbulence are obtained and discussed. At first, time-averaged velocities,  and , and then their fluctuations are calculated. To clarify turbulence structures, velocity fluctuations and  are plotted. It is observed that turbulence structures occupy different positions and move with con...
